1981 CJ7 Restoration - 2023.06.28
About 3 weeks ago I sent the shorty headers to Jet Hot in North Carolina to get them ceramic coated. This coating is applied to the inside and outside of the pipes to dissipate heat which increases the efficiency of the exhaust system by carrying the heat away from the cylinder head faster. The coating also prevents corrosion. If you look closely, rust is starting to bloom from the flanges that attach to the cylinder head. There are some spots of rust on some of the pipes too.

Jet Hot has all sorts of color options, but I just chose the "Classic Polish," which has a chrome-like look. It's not quite mirror polished chrome, but between that and satin. Kind of hot-rod like, but it looks nice without being over the top, shouldn't corrode and will reduce engine bay temperatures by a considerable amount.

Angled view.
Bolted on the Holley Sniper EFI unit just to put it somewhere. Hope to have it operational soon.
